Blue Tops Out in Saucy Rad Hatter

I thought I would feature this lovely little cocktail sized topper  actress Keegan Connor Tracy (Bates Motel, Once Upon A Time) wore on the red carpet at Vancouver’s Fashion Week, in March.

You can follow Keegan on Instagram - @keegolicious 🙂 (where I got this photo from)

She looked stunning, pairing it with a beautiful custom corset from Lace Embrace atelier, handmade from antique Japanese kimono silk, in a lush apple green.

Some of you already know how fond I am of the Top Hat silhouette – I created 2 seasons’ worth of magic Portal hats for ABC’s Once Upon A Time! You can read about that amazing experience in various other blog entries. 😉 Just take a scroll back.

As featured in the collectors book - 'Once Upon A Time - Behind The Magic'

This delightful and versatile hat is from my Saucy Milliner LBH Collection – a series of elaborate, one-of dress hats I create as and when inspiration strikes. Usually I dip into my precious stash of unique and/or antique trims for these gems.  This particular ditty features a handmade silk flower I bought on my last millinery adventure to NYC – it’s made by a family-run business who have been making couture, handmade flowers for the high-end fashion industry for nearly 100 years!  Further embellishment includes a silk band and bouquet of burnt and dyed peacock hurl and a lovely, plump rolled edge brim,  bound in grosgrain.

The hat is fully lined in silk and sits atop the wearer’s head via a discreet elastic, which slides around the back of the head, under the hair. This is a one size fits all hat – it’s about 2/3 the size of a regular top hat.   It is made with high quality millinery fur felt, not wool, for a lush sheen to it’s finish.

This piece has been worn once, briefly by Keegan, but it is still in new condition.

It is priced at $545 plus tax and shipping (USA and Canada, only)
