The Zig Zag Sash

The Zig Zag Sash Panama hat is just as playful a design as it is practical! The generous brim size is great for keeping you in the shade, on a sunny, Sunday stroll or picnic-ing in the park. The chin sashes add extra security in a strong breeze, as well as looking absolutely darling! When not in use, you can tie them in a loose bow to the back of your head, or just let them dangle - the gorgeous, Japanese grosgrain that I use has a beautiful hand and drapes just perfectly. 

I use the natural brim edge of the straw for this hat, which is about 5" in width, but due to the handwoven nature of the straw, the width of the brim may vary, ever so slightly around. 

Panama straw is traditionally handwoven in Ecuador, and each piece is unique. Slight slubs in this particular weave are not defects, but characteristics of its handmade nature.
